I am so excited to announce the release of my EP "Colors", which will be available for streaming and download on streaming platforms  and Bandcamp on Friday, 5/10!

The record will include 5 songs, including my most recent single "Hey, Stranger" which has received over 300 streams on Bandcamp since its release on 1/26 and now available for streaming on most platforms. It will ALSO include a re-recorded verison of my debut single "This Is My 23" which was taken down by Spotify in January of this year without any valid explanation or chance for appeal. Oh, and Emanuel Wynter is featured on one of the tracks :)

I'll be celebrating the release of my debut EP "Colors" at Petra's in Charlotte on Saturday, May 11 with special guests Lisa DeNovo and Zac Robins with full band sets. I'll also be playing with a full band featuring Ian Cunningham, Will Boese, David Gibson and Zak Ferrell.

Tickets are $8 in advance and $12 at the door. 21+ with valid ID only. Doors open at 8, music kicks off an 9!

"Colors" will be available on Bandcamp for streaming, download, and purchase at midnight on Friday, May 10. Thank you for all of your support thus far. I hope listening to the EP in May makes the wait worth it for all of you.

Hailing from Bergen County, New Jersey, avid singer-songwriter and musician Val Merza is a force to be reckoned with. Val has taken the Charlotte music scene by storm and now works as a full-time musician performing across the Carolinas and beyond. She has played at some of the most prominent establishments in Charlotte, including The Milestone Club, The Evening Muse, and Skylark Social Club. She also travels regularly to perform across the Carolinas and beyond, including Atlanta, Nashville and Wilmington.

Val has a passion for songwriting and connecting with others through powerful, illustrative storytelling that captures all facets of the human experience and highlights the ways in which we are far more similar than we are different. Val can engage any crowd effortlessly with emotionally-charged lyrics, catchy melodies, and captivating storylines. What sets Val apart from other musicians is her intrinsic ability to connect with the crowd through the universal language of music.

Val's repertoire consists of an acoustic variety including contemporary pop, folk and indie covers as well as her own original music, which draws  inspiration from artists like Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Alec Benjamin.

Val's debut single "This Is My 23" was available for streaming on all platforms and has become a favorite among locals and beyond with over 14,000 streams within 6 months of its release before being taken down by Spotify. Her latest single "Hey, Stranger" has gained hundreds of streams on Bandcamp since its release on January 26, 2024 on Bandcamp. Her upcoming single "Could've Been Me" will be available for streaming on most platforms and Bandcamp on Friday, March 8 at midnight; it will also be included on Val's debut EP "Colors" which will be available for streaming and download on Friday, May 10!

Val is currently on her second self-managed and funded tour, "The Colors Tour" which she will finish off at Petra's Bar in Charlotte, NC on Saturday, May 11 with special guests the Lisa DeNovo Band and Zac Robins to celebrate her EP "Colors".
