Bring a lyric, demo, voice memo, or unfinished idea. We’ll work through what’s landing, where the song feels stuck, and what to try next.
What we can work on
- Lyrics: make the meaning clearer, find the specific detail, and work through lines that aren’t saying what you mean.
- Hooks and choruses: sharpen the central idea and give the chorus a reason to return.
- Structure: look at what each section adds and where the song loses momentum.
- Demos and performance: talk through phrasing, delivery, and choices that support the song.
We’ll choose a focus based on your draft and the questions you bring. You’ll leave with focused notes and clear next steps.
Who this is for
Songwriters who want another set of ears on a draft. You might have a chorus without verses, a lyric that feels almost right, or a demo you’ve heard too many times to judge clearly.
A rough recording is enough. Bring the version you actually have.
Before your session
- Choose the song or idea you most want to work on.
- Have your lyrics and any demo or voice memo ready.
- Write down what you want the song to say, where you feel stuck, and your two most useful questions.
Cancellation and rescheduling
Email val@valmerza.com at least 24 hours before your session to reschedule without a fee. With less than 24 hours’ notice, or if you miss the session, it counts as used. If an emergency comes up, let me know; I’ll consider exceptions case by case.
If I cancel your session, you can choose a replacement session or a refund for that session.
